I hold a bachelor’s a degree in Social Work and a master’s degree in Counseling and Addictive Behavior from Washburn University. I am a dually licensed clinician with years of additional training and supervision specializing in addiction, mental health and eating disorder treatment.
Prior to healing my relationship with food, I was obsessed with “being skinny”. I was raised by an anorexic mother, and skinny was the ultimate goal. This pushed me to extreme forms of restriction, and binge eating. It took 20 years of extreme fatigue and mental exhaustion to finally say… “Enough is enough!”
After achieving recovery from two eating disorders I made the decision to pursue weight loss. Not to achieve the elusive skinny but simply to feel better in my body NOT about my body! I pursued CrossFit and in the process fell in love with powerlifting & strength training.
There is life after your eating disorder and it begins with healing your relationship with food.
