FAQ

Do I really need that many calories?
Most likely! Your body needs more calories than you may realize. You might think you need a lower number because of years of fad dieting.

Is this 100% accurate?
No. Nothing in nutrition is. These are estimates, but pretty accurate estimates. Stick with the numbers provided here for 2 weeks with consistency before making any changes.

I used this other calorie calculator and it gave me different results. What gives?
There are many ways of figuring out how many calories you need. You will get different results from every single calorie calculator. Ours prioritizes protein. Stop window shopping and choose one, it doesn’t matter if you use ours or not. Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good!

What is a caloric deficit?
Consuming fewer calories than you burn. This does not mean starve yourself. Click here for more info.

Do I need to track macros?
No. Overall caloric intake is what matters, regardless of what your goal is (fat loss, body recomposition, lean bulk, etc). You can easily just track overall calories and protein.

Help! I can’t enter my information.
You will need to enter your email address and the results will be emailed to you.

How do I determine my activity level?
Hover over the “?” question mark next to each activity level to see a description of how to determine that.

Why aren’t you showing my BMR?
Because I know you’ll use that instead of the calorie goal provided for you.

I can’t eat that much protein!
That’s not a question, it’s your fixed mindset talking. You can eat that much protein – you just need to learn how. As with any new skill, it takes trial and error, time, consistency, and patience.
